This detailed Atlas Master Silver EMD GP40 Low Nose, No Dynamic Brakes diesel locomotive is based on the popular 3,000-horsepower road units introduced in the late 1960s. Production of these popular diesels ran through the early 1970s when they were succeeded by the GP40-2.
