Gunpowder wagons were private owner wagons designed to transport blasting powder from merchants to quarries along the Ffestiniog Railway and were also used in other railway settings around quarry sites. In their later years, surviving examples were repurposed to carry cement and locomotive sand for the railway. Several examples remain in preservation today, both on the Ffestiniog Railway and elsewhere in Wales.
