Product Information:
Belonging to a series of ex-Burlington Northern cars before becoming BNSF owned, these cars were originally built for Northern Pacific by American Car & Foundry in the late 1960s. Used by BNSF largely for powdered cement hauling, they sometimes acquire a semi-permanent shell of cured cement streaks.
Burlington Northern was formed through the mergers of Great Northern and Northern Pacific in 1970, and then merged with ATSF in 1995 to form BNSF. BNSF is one of the largest freight railroads in the country with over 32,000 miles of rail.
