Product Information:

This car was built for Erie Railroad before being repainted and absorbed into the 1960 Erie Lackawanna merger roster. Conrail was a Class 1 railroad operating in the Northeastern United States from 1976 until 1999. Conrail was formed by the federal government through the mergers of bankrupt Penn Central, Erie Lackawanna, and other roads. Conrail eventually turned a profit, and in the late 1980s it was privatized, and continued operating until the late 1990s when it was split between Norfolk Southern and CSX.

This ready-to-run N Scale 50' Double-Door Boxcar from Micro-Trains features an injection-molded styrene body, a die cast underframe, free-rolling engineering plastic trucks with contoured axles and Magne-Matic(R) magnetic knuckle couplers. Other features include detailed separate fine-profile foot stirrups, movable doors, fine-profile brakewheel and fine decoration. Patterned after cars built beginning in the 1940s and used into the early 2000s, this 50' Double-Door Boxcar is an ideal addition to your diesel-era freight consist.
