The Rix Water and Oil Tank are designed to represent riveted steel tanks that the railroads started building back in 1880 during the steam era. Today tanks similar to these are being used to hold oil and chemicals. The Rix Water and Oil Tank are made up of 6 band segments which form a complete band. The bands are then stacked one on top of another until they reach the given height. Kits include enough band segments to produce a 60-foot tall by 24-foot diameter tank. The tank is molded in black polystyrene.
