Illinois Central (IC) “Gray Repaint 1988+” shows off the “New” IC corporate image of the time period, which was later referred to as “Death Star.” The ICG removed the “G” in early 1988, and the new slimmed-down railroad adopted an all-new logo and color scheme palette. Centralia painted cabooses in a classy gray with white lettering, including the “New Image” IC logo.
