Product Information:

Prototypes for the WalthersMainline HO Scale 40' Wood Stock Car with Dreadnaught Ends could be found running on almost every North American railroad before the 1970s. Since the 1800s, hauling meat on the hoof to market was a long-time business for North American railroads. By the mid 20th century, specialized stockcars were still hauling livestock on the rails, but the cars had been modernized with many of the features found on other rolling stock of the era.

This WalthersMainline model captures many of the spotting features of these 1950s built wood prototypes, including corrugated steel Dreadnaught ends, a metal roof and roofwalk and body mounted handbrake. Other details include simulated wood slats, Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers and metal 33" scale diameter wheels. Cattle and livestock were important traffic on every railroad from the steam era into the 1960s and this 40' Wood Stock Car makes it easy to keep this traffic moving on your HO Scale railroad.
