Introduced in the 1970s, these rugged hoppers were designed to transport dense bulk commodities such as gravel, crushed stone, and sand, materials that required the high capacity offered by an open-top car rather than the weather protection offered by a closed top car of comparable size. A common sight on aggregate trains, and local freights, many Greenville 100-Ton 2-Bay Hoppers remain in service today. Features:
